Loganair is a regional airline based in Scotland. It was founded in 1962 and has its main operational base at Glasgow Airport. Loganair operates domestic and international flights, primarily within the United Kingdom.
The airline started as a small air taxi and flying school, but it quickly expanded its operations to include scheduled passenger services. As of August 2022, Loganair operates a range of destinations within Scotland as well as some international services across Europe and the UK. Recently the airline added a third London airport to its route map with London Heathrow now being served by the airline.

Baggage
Checked Baggage
Checked baggage on Loganair is dependent on the fare category that is purchased. Passengers who purchased Fly Flex+ can carry up to 30kg / 66lbs in total but up to 25kg / 55lbs per piece free of charge and Fly Flex passengers can carry up to 23kg / 55lbs in a single bag free of charge. Fly customers will only get a free baggage allowance of up to 15kg / 33lbs. If you have baggage over your free allowance, it will only be accepted if space is available at a charge of a small fee. The maximum is any 1 bag at 25kgs / 55lbs. Any additional pieces of luggage will be charged £10. Charges may vary and will be applied at the prevailing rate when payment is made.
Carry-on Baggage
The cabin luggage must be labelled at check-in, weigh under 6 kilos / 13 pounds, and not exceed dimensions of 40cm x 35cm x 18cm (16in x 14in x 7in). Fly Flex + passengers can carry one 6kg / 13lbs carry-on baggage and two personal items. Fly and Fly Flex passengers receive one carry-on baggage and a personal item. Please don’t pack any prohibited items in your carry-on as these will be removed and disposed of at airport security. Prohibited items include liquids over 100ml, flammable liquids, and illegal substances.
Any item exceeding the limits above must be transported as checked baggage.

Online Check-in
You can check in online using this Loganair website and inputting in your surname and booking reference. Passengers are advised to check in online as it’d save time queuing at the airport.
Airport Check-in
For flights departing from Scottish Highlands and Islands, Check-in opens 1 hour before departure and closes 30 minutes before departure. For flights from London, check-in opens 2 hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before departure. For all other UK domestic departures & Donegal, check-in opens 2 hours before departure and closes 30 minutes before departure. Please ensure to have your boarding pass printed or saved onto your phone, as you’ll be charged at check-in for the printing of your boarding pass.
Economy Class
Economy Class Facilities
Economy class is currently the only class provided on this airline’s planes. Passengers onboard economy class are served by the friendly and attentive crew in traditional Scottish attire. On board most flights where the flight is long enough, passengers will receive a complimentary inclusive onboard dining and drinking service, which includes soft drinks, tea, coffee and snacks. There is no In-inflight entertainment system however you can stay entertained by reading Longanair’s in-flight magazine, the FlightFLOG. There’s also no Wi-Fi connectivity onboard.
What are the seats like?
In economy class, passengers can choose to purchase their seat selection (unless on a Fly Flex or Fly Flex + where this is included free of charge) to be able to choose where they sit on the plane. The seats a comfortable with a good amount of legroom.
Business Class
Business Class Facilities
Although there is no specific cabin for business class, many business passengers choose to fly with Loganair as it meets their business needs. The set-up of the airline’s schedule means that most of them have weekday day returns, meaning you can commute to work in the morning and return home the very same day. The Fly Flex and Fly Flex + fares allow passengers with hectic schedules more flexibility. If you arrive at the airport early, you may be able to hop on an earlier flight if there is availability to be able to get home earlier. In addition, the Fly Flex + fare allows you to change your flight with no additional costs from the airline.
Fly Flex + not only gives full flexibility to change your flight when you want, without any additional cost, but it also puts you in the fast lane by adding fast-track security and airport lounge access. So you can put your feet up, relax and enjoy the Wi-Fi, cakes and coffee!

Frequent Flyer Program
Clan Loganair
Loganair offers a frequent flyer programme for you to subscribe to called Clan Loganair. Similar to other airline loyalty schemes, the airline rewards you with points for flights flown with the airline. You are able to build up your miles rewarded and redeem them on a reward flight with the airline. Please note that Clan Loganair does not reward points on codeshare services if operated by a partner airline. To gain reward points the service must be operated by Loganair.
Compassionate Fares
Loganair also offers that in the event of a death in your immediate family, an unexpected critical medical situation, or the need to visit an immediate family member receiving treatment as an in-patient in a mainland hospital or hospice, you may find that you need to arrange urgent air travel at short notice, and thus do not have the time to qualify for an advance purchase discounted fare.
To be eligible for Compassionate Fares and Compassionate Flexibility, Loganair will consider an event of recent bereavement to an Immediate Family member, an Immediate Family member suffering a recent, unexpected critical medical situation, or an Immediate Family member attending a hospital or hospice as an in-patient.
Airline Alliance
Loganair is not part of any airline alliance at this current time. However, the airline does have both codeshare and interline agreements with some airlines.
Loganair currently has codeshare agreements with Blue Islands, British Airways and KLM. This means that you would be able to purchase tickets for Loganair services via these airline websites and be rewarded by the codeshare partners for travelling on a Loganair service. The airline also has interline agreements with Air France, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, United and Wideroe.

Glasgow Airport (GLA) also known as Glasgow International Airport and formerly Abbotsinch Airport is an international airport based in Glasgow, Scotland. The airport is the 9th busiest in the UK and saw just under 10 million passengers travel through the airport in 2018. The airport is also the 2nd busiest in Scotland, falling behind the country’s capital of Edinburgh, which is additionally ranked 8th busiest in the UK. The airport has 1 runaway over 2,600m in length. Glasgow Airport (GLA) is owned and operated by AGS Airports which also owns and operates Aberdeen and Southampton airports. It was formerly owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings (also known as BAA).
Glasgow airport is one of the hub airports for Loganair and also acts as a target city for leisure airline TUI Airways. The airport is also served by Aer Lingus, Air Transat, BH Air, British Airways, Corendon Airlines, Easyjet, Emirates, Icelandair, Jet2.com, KLM, Lufthansa, Ryanair, Transavia, Vueling and WestJet. This means that Glasgow Airport has direct air links to Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Egypt, Dubai, Turkey, Germany, Portugal, Spain and a range of other destinations in Europe and the UK.
The airport is connected to the city centre by the Glasgow Airport shuttle bus 500. McGill bus service 757 also operates services from the airport to other destinations in the surrounding areas. The airport is close to the M8 motorway making private transfers into Glasgow easy. The airport offers a wide range of taxis and car hire options for you to use.
