Air Mauritius’ Baggage Allowance
Please note that the following information is a guide and will be confirmed during the booking process.
Carry-on Baggage
Economy: Passengers flying Economy are permitted 1 x carry on bag, weighing a maximum of 7kgs.
Business: Passengers travelling in Business Class are permitted 2 x carry on bags, weighing a maximum of 7kg each.
Please note that each piece of hand luggage should be restricted to 35 x 55 x 25cm, which applies to all classes travelling in.
Checked Baggage
Economy: Passengers travelling in Economy Class are permitted 1 x 23kg of free checked baggage. However, there are some exceptions:
- Passengers travelling from Mauritius / Rodrigues to Europe via London / Asia / Oceania / Africa are permitted 2 pieces of up to 20kg each.
- Passengers travelling from Madagascar to Europe via Paris / Asia / Oceania / Africa are permitted 2 x 23kg checked bags each.
- Passengers travelling from Africa to Europe / Asia / Oceania / Africa / Indian Ocean Islands are permitted 2 x 20kg each.
Business: Passengers travelling in business class are generally permitted 2 x 32kg checked luggage free of charge, unless stated differently on your ticket.

Air Mauritius Check-In Information
Online Check-In
Passengers can check in for their flights online via the Air Mauritius website. Passengers will need their e-ticket number and personal information to be able to check-in, and will then need to print out the boarding pass.
Online check-in opens 30 hours before travel, and closes 2 hours prior to the flight departure time (apart from departures from Mumbai where the online check-in window is 30 hours to 4 hours before your flight).
Airport Check-In
To complete check-in at the airport, visit the Air Mauritius check-in desk to start the process. For international flights and at international airports, passengers must check in at least 3 hours before your flight. Passengers who have premium check-in can fast-track the queues and head straight to the special check-in counter for business class passengers.
Economy Class
Air Mauritius’ Economy Class prides itself with space and a range of onboard services to ensure you have a relaxing flight journey.

What are the Business Class Seats Like?

They can be adjusted by remote control and offer a massage option as well as inflatable lumbar pouches for additional comfort.

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (IATA: MRU) is the main international airport in Mauritius. The airport is the hub airport for the country’s national airline Air Mauritius. Airlines which fly to and from this airport include Air Austral, Air France, Air Madagascar, Air Seychelles, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Comair, Condor, Corsair International, Mahan Air and previously Catovair before they ceased operations.
