Baggage regulations at Air New Zealand

The total measurements of all checked baggage for Air New Zealand flights must not exceed 158 cm. The standard checked baggage weight limit for any individual piece is 23 kg. It can be increased up to 32 kg for an additional fee. Any item that exceeds 32 kg will not be accepted as checked baggage and will need to be repackaged.

Each passenger on an Air New Zealand flight (excluding children under 2 years of age traveling with a ticket) is entitled to 1 free piece of checked baggage. This franchise can be increased for an additional fee during the reservation process. Any item that exceeds the size or weight allowed will be subject to an extra charge for excess baggage.

For some billed items of sports equipment, such as surfboards and bicycles, a fixed management fee will be charged, due to their size, fragility or other handling requirements.
