Baggage regulations at Austrian Airlines

Economy passengers are allowed to carry a piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of 8 kg and a maximum size of 55 x 40 x 23 cm into the cabin. Also foldable garment bags with maximum dimensions of 57 x 54 x 15 cm and hand or laptop bag with a size limit of 40 x 30 x 10 cm are allowed. The exemption limit for the checked baggage depends on the respective route and its tariff. European travelers can choose between three economy fares. For the Economy Light tariff, a suitcase costs 15 € for a stretch with a maximum weight of 23 kg and a total dimension of 158 cm (L x W x H). For the Economy Classic tariff and the Economy Flex tariff, the exemption limit is 23 kg for the same overall size. For international flights, economy travelers can also deposit a bag of 23 kg free of charge.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers in Economy Class are permitted 1 x 8kg standard carry-on bag.

Passengers in Premium Economy Class are permitted 1 x 8kg standard carry-on bag.

Passengers in Business Class are permitted 2 x 8kg standard carry-on bags.

All standard carry-on must not exceed the following measurements: 21.6 x 15.7 x 9 inches (55 x 40 x 23 cm).

All passengers are also entitled to one free personal item. The personal item, such as a small handbag, must not exceed the following measurements: 15.7 x 11.8 x 4 inches (40 x 30 x 10 cm).
