Baggage Allowance at Delta Air Lines
The baggage and baggage allowances at Delta Airlines depend on the destination and the class in which you fly. Basically, a carry-on bag measuring 56 cm x 35 cm x 23 cm is free. Fees for additional pieces of luggage vary by destination and class. For a transatlantic flight from the US or Canada to Europe, the first piece of luggage weighing up to 23 kg is free. Another costs about 100 US dollars. The luggage dimensions may total a maximum of 157 cm in the total of length, height and width together.
Delta Air Lines Web Check-in
In addition to the classic counter check-in or the check-in machine at the airport, you can check in online or via the app up to 24 hours before departure. If you have luggage with you, you can either drop it off at the check-in counter or at one of the baggage drop-off desks. As part of online check-in, you can choose your seats, specify your luggage and pay for excess baggage. You can then print your boarding pass at home, but the electronic boarding pass is also available at many airports and can be transferred to your mobile device.
With the FlyDelta app, you will automatically check in 24 hours before departure if your destination is within US, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands. Check-in at the vending machine is also possible up to 24 hours before departure. For this you need your confirmation or ticket number and enter it at the machine. If you participate in the Delta Airlines rewards program, you can also enter your SkyMiles number. Alternatively, you can also scan your credit card, SkyMiles card or passport. The name of the cardholder or passport holder must be the same as that of the traveler.
Another variant of the check-in is the curbside check-in. When you arrive at the airport, simply contact one of the Skycap staff and show your passport along with the booking confirmation, your flight number or your ticket number. Skycap staff will then pick up your luggage and hand over your boarding pass. The check-in service provided by the Skycap staff is free, as are the other options.
