Kuala Namu International Airport is the main airport serving the city of Medan, which is the capital of the North Sumatra province in Indonesia. The airport is located in the Deli Serdang regency, about 39 km east of the city center.
The airport was opened in 2013, replacing the old Polonia International Airport as the main airport for Medan. Kuala Namu International Airport is the third-busiest airport in Indonesia, after Jakarta’s Soekarno–Hatta International Airport and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.
The airport has a single terminal building, which serves both domestic and international flights.
