About
PAL Express, formerly known as Air Philippines and Airphil Express, is a low-cost airline based in the Philippines. It is a subsidiary of Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country’s flag carrier. PAL Express operates domestic and international flights, primarily focusing on domestic routes within the Philippines.
The airline was originally established in 1995 as Air Philippines, and it underwent a rebranding in 2010 when it became Airphil Express. In 2013, following the integration of Airphil Express into Philippine Airlines, the airline was renamed PAL Express. This integration allowed PAL Express to leverage the resources and network of Philippine Airlines.
PAL Express operates a fleet of narrow-body aircraft, including Airbus A320s and Bombardier Q400s. These aircraft are well-suited for short to medium-haul flights, and they offer a balance of passenger capacity and efficiency.
As a low-cost carrier, PAL Express focuses on providing affordable air travel options to passengers. It offers various fare classes, allowing passengers to choose the level of service and amenities they desire. The airline serves numerous destinations within the Philippines, including popular tourist destinations like Cebu, Davao, Boracay, Palawan, and many others.
It’s important to note that my knowledge is based on information available up until September 2021, so there may have been changes or updates to PAL Express’ operations since then. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, I recommend visiting the official PAL Express website or contacting the airline directly.

October 2019 Update
Travelling during Undas? Philippine Airlines is urging passengers travelling domestically within the Philippines to arrive at the airport two hours before scheduled departure. This applies to flights between October 25th and November 4th, 2019. Undas is a religious holiday season to celebrate All Saints Day, which is usually celebrated on the first and second day of November. As a result of the public holiday, there is increased passenger traffic, so passengers are advised to take this into account when travelling.
