Baggage Policy
If you’re flying with Thai Airways, you will need to follow the different rules around carry-on and checked baggage allowances. These will vary depending on the route you’re flying and the cabin class you’re flying in.
Carry-on Baggage
All passengers:
All passengers are permitted 1 piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 7kg (15 lbs) and not exceeding the dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25 cm (22 x 18 x 10 inches). Please note that these dimensions must also include the carry-on bag’s wheels, handles and side pockets.
Carry-on baggage must be placed underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead lockers.
Passengers can also take one handbag/wallet/purse alongside the carry-on baggage. This mustn’t exceed dimensions of 37.5 x 25 x 12.5 cm (15 x 10 x 5 inches). It also cannot weigh more than 1.5kg (3.3 lbs).
Other unique items are permitted onboard including walking sticks or crutches for elderly passengers, sick passengers and handicapped passengers, as well as infant food.
Business Class, First Class and Star Alliance Gold Status passengers:
If you are travelling in Business Class or First Class, or you’re a Star Alliance Gold Status member, you are allowed 2 pieces of carry-on baggage for your flight with Thai Airways. Dimension and weight restrictions above apply.

With Thai Airways, you can check in online or at the airport.
Online Check-In
Online check-in is available for both domestic and international flights with Thai Airways. Online check-in will open 24 hours up until 1 hour before your flight is scheduled to depart. You can check in online for your Thai Airways flight on the official Thai Airways check-in page.
Airport Check-In
If you want to check in at the airport, you can do so at the self-service kiosks or at the check-in counters.
For domestic flights, check-in counters will open from 3 hours up until 40 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time. Boarding gates will be open from 90 minutes up until 10 minutes before departure.
For international flights, check-in counters will open from 3 hours up until 30 minutes before takeoff. Boarding gates will be open from 1 hour up until 10 minutes before departure.

Premium Economy
Thai Airways’ Premium Economy class is called ‘Economy Plus’. With Economy Plus, passengers get to experience extra comfort and privacy compared to Economy Class. This cabin class is only available for flights between Bangkok, London and Frankfurt.
Premium Economy Facilities
Middle seats are blocked to allow extra room and comfort throughout the flight. Passengers have access to priority check-in and baggage tagging. There is an extra 5kg baggage allowance. Passengers also receive special access to the Thai Airways Business Class reception area at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Meal options are similar to those in Business Class.

What are Business Class seats like?
The Thai Airways Business Class seats on A380s, Boeing 777 and 787s allow the airline’s Business Class passengers to rest peacefully in a 180 degree fully lie-flat bed. Other aircraft offer angled seating between 160 to 170 degrees.
First Class
In Royal First Class, passengers can expect a flight experience like no other.
First Class Facilities
If you’re departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport with a Royal First Class ticket, you will get curbside drop off and porter assistance with your luggage all the way to the Royal First Class check-in counters.
After you get through security and immigration, you will be swiftly transported to the Royal First Class Lounge and Spa. This includes Thai-style massages, steam rooms, showers, slumber rooms as well as exclusive dining.
First Class Amenities
Royal First Class passengers on flights lasting longer than 6 hours will receive complimentary loungewear and slippers as well as a travel kit with designer toiletries and accessories. Sleeping won’t be an issue with soft down pillows and fine cloth blankets provided by Thai Airways.

Thai Airways’ hub is New Bangkok International Airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport), which is one of two international airports serving Bangkok and the other is Don Mueang International Airport. New Bangkok International Airport is also the main hub for Bangkok Airways, Thai Smile and Orient Thai Airlines. The airport has two runaways and has a passenger capacity of almost 60 million passengers. The airport was opened in September 2006 and is now the tenth busiest airport in the world and sixth busiest airport in Asia.
